FAQ

Questions and Answers about the AttenGo method

How long does it take to see results?

You will begin noticing changes within a few weeks of starting to train and within 2 to 3 months improvements in concentration, focus, attention and memory will become evident. Most individuals complete the program within 3 to 6 months.

Will the changes remain long term?

There comes a moment during AttenGo training when the brain “gets” it.

Following this stage, learning integrates on a deeper level and usually the child will not revert to old patterns. It is similar to learning how to ride a bicycle. Once the brain learns how to keep the balance to prevent falling down, it will know how to do it repeatedly. This kind of skill cannot be forgotten.

Are there any side effects?

None whatsoever because training is non-invasive.

AttenGo works in tandem with the way the brain functions, therefore there are no side effects. In fact, there are many positive side benefits, including improved mood, better behavioral control, better sleep and many others. Additional benefits include clarity, ability to make decisions, prioritize and organize. Use this link to see a complete list of benefits.

Does the same program treat various conditions?

Definitely not. We adjust programs according to age, specific challenges and levels of difficulties on the basis of our comprehensive assessment.

What does language independent mean?

Language independent means that there is no need for language or math skills to perform the various cognitive tasks. This is very important because AttenGo operates on the neurological level that is independent of content. This innovative approach has proven to be very effective in terms of how fast results can be achieved, since it enables the brain to generalize the results to any area involving cognitive processing.

How long does it take to complete the program?

It varies from individual to individual and depends on the scope & severity of problems as well as frequency of practice. Most training programs can be completed within 3 to 6 months.

What does pre-language mean?

Pre-language is the ability to work with letters, words, numbers and basic equations while improving concentration. Training on this level identified by our clinicians has proved to be very beneficial for anyone with a learning disability, difficulties in reading, writing and math.

What happens after the program is completed?

There are two options: the first is to stop training after you achieve the desired improvement and it is perfectly fine. The second option is to proceed with more advanced levels to be able to continue and improve the general potential of the brain.

Brain research and studies have demonstrated ‘neuroplasticity – that is, our brains are capable of learning and changing throughout our lifetime. However, just like our body, we need to challenge our brain in order to strengthen its abilities, and express our full potential.

How does the program help athletes?

The program helps athletes by training them in sustaining focus on a consistent basis.  We all know that when an athlete loses focus, he/she loses the ability to score or do well in general, but when the focus is there they do extremely well. Athletes refer to this as “being in the zone.” Training with AttenGo will teach the brain how to focus at will, whenever needed, and to sustain the necessary concentration as long as required. This will always yield enhanced performance on the field.

How does AttenGo help overcome learning disabilities?

AttenGo has shown to be very beneficial to individuals with different types of learning disabilities. This occurs on two levels: first, improving concentration, focus and memory skills, and second, improving neuro-cognitive skills that support reading, writing and math skills. In addition, there will be an improvement in executive functions, which are normally impaired in this population. Click here to learn more about how AttenGo can help different types of learning disabilities.

What kind of support do you offer?

We provide both technical and professional support, and you can contact us using our special support system to ask questions or report problems that we will help troubleshoot. If you or your child are having difficulties with any of the program levels, please inform us and we will suggest a solution. We will work with you and/or your child until the successful completion of the program.

Is the program suitable for color-blind individuals?

No. AttenGo program is not suitable for color-blind individuals, unless the condition is mild. For instance, the user needs to identify a color change, but not which colors are invloved.

Are results guaranteed?

Our experience in treating thousands of children and adults has shown that consistent training will enable most users to experience noticeable results. And since we provide full professional support, we will help resolve any difficulty, if encountered by you or your child.

What is AttenGo?

AttenGo is a comprehensive online neuro-cognitive training program that addresses cognitive impairments in focus, attention and memory. The program includes a pre-assessment to evaluate the difficulties, based on which a training program is matched for the users needs, age and symptoms.

AttenGo is comprised of two modules: AttenFocus for improving all aspects of attention, focus and concentration, and AttenMemory for improving all aspects of memory as well as information processing.

Who is AttenGo for?

AttenGo is suitable for children and adults who are experiencing attention, concentration and/or memory problems related to various conditions, such as ADD/ADHD, learning disabilities, dyslexia and memory loss associated with injury or aging

AttenGo effectively treats both light and severe conditions.

How frequently do I need to train?

4 to 5 times a week for 25-30 minutes would be the ideal.
In any case, we recommend no less than three training sessions of 20 minutes per week.

Younger children can start with 5 to 10 minutes and gradually extend the time.
Older children and adults can practice up to twice a day for a total of at least 20 minutes,
with a break of at least one hour between practice sessions.

NOTE:  Depending on your specific difficulties, the program will create an ideal ratio for practicing with AttenFocus and AttenMemory.

Questions and Answers for Parents

Can AttenGo cure my child’s ADHD?

Although ADD and ADHD are regarded as conditions that cannot be cured, their severity can indeed be reduced. Training with AttenGo will, no doubt, bring about significant changes. Such changes include improvement of cognitive functions and behavior as well as reduction in hyperactivity & impulsivity, and many others.

Will my child like it?

Yes. Children like challenging cognitive tasks. They like to improve scores and they like to move from level to level and tackle new challenges. In addition, once a child begins to realize that he/she can think more clearly, he/she becomes motivated to continue the program until its successful completion.

Do I need to stay with my child during training?

We recommend staying with younger kids at least in the beginning to make sure that the child is following instructions. Once the child gets the hang of it, such supervision is usually no longer required. Kids with more severe learning disabilities may, however, need additional guidance.

How can I help my child during the process?

You can help your child by offering encouragement and reassurance. Acknowledging effort and progress can go a long way.

Should I discontinue my child’s medication?

No. Initially, the child should start training while still on medication although we recommend that training be performed when the medication wears off, for instance later in the day. As the child progresses, and in consultation with the child’s physician, you will be able to reduce dosages. We have seen many cases where kids stopped taking medication completely as a result of our specialized cognitive training. Your child will improve whether on medication or not.

My child is very bright – is this program challenging enough?

Yes, definitely. The program will enable your child to improve key aspects of concentration, thus enabling him/her to use his/her intelligence in practical ways.

It is important to understand that training with AttenGo focuses on improving cognitive skills. Since your child is having attention related problems, the training will be challenging enough for him.

My child does not have ADD or ADHD, can he/she benefit from the program?

Absolutely. Using the AttenGo program will enable your child to further improve attention, concentration and memory skills. This, in turn, will result in better academic and athletic performance, if the child is involved in sports. The child will remember better, process information faster, and will solve mathematical equations faster than the average child.

How do I know that my child is progressing?

There are 2 ways to identify progress:

The system generates extensive scores and tracks the child’s progress. You will be able to see these scores (and we suggest that you monitor them frequently) in the My Progress Page.

You will also notice that the child will gradually become calmer, better able to concentrate, spend more time preparing homework, will need less help with homework and will be more organized. You may also receive feedback from teachers who may comment on the child’s improvement both behaviorally as well as academically.

Can I or my child do more than one session a day?

It is possible to do more than one session a day, however a break between sessions of no less than one hour is needed.

Why AttenGo?

What makes AttenGo so effective?

Our cognitive technology based on years of clinical experience gets to the root of the problem and not just skims the surface. The program does not  teach coping skills, but resolves problems so that coping skills become superfluous.

There are several programs on the market that help improve reading or behavioral skills, but they do not attend the root of the problem. AttenGo solves problems on a neuro-cognitive level making it much easier to process information, store data and recall it as well as to focus, pay attention, and concentrate whenever necessary.

Is AttenGo easy to use?

Absolutely. The program has been designed for easy use and understanding.

Is this like Neuro-feedback?

Please click here to see a full comparison between AttenGo and Neuro-feedback.

Is training like playing a video game?

Not at all. Playing video games cannot solve fundamental cognitive problems. If it did, there would be very few children with ADD, as most children play these games for hours almost every day.

The unique AttenGo method simulates what we call “low stimulation environments.” Many individuals with attention deficits can focus well when the level of stimulation is high, but perform poorly when low stimulation is involved. For instance, learning new material, reading, listening to the teacher in the classroom are all examples of low stimulation environments. Our training emulates these environments to enable users to generalize results and apply them in every area of life where cognitive processing is required.

What is the difference between AttenGo and other programs?

AttenGo is a unique training program based on technological breakthroughs that simultaneously works on two levels: normalizing brain wave activity and improving fundamental cognitive skills, such as working memory and executive functions (planning, organization, self-control).

All this is done through training that is easy and has absolutely NO side effects.

What is included in the assessment?

The assessment process consists of two parts:
First, you grade the level of symptoms for each condition listed in our questionnaire enabling our system to evaluate each problem and its extent.

The final part of the assessment includes 8-10 minutes of training on certain program levels enabling us to evaluate the general performance level of the user.  The results of both parts of the assessment help us determine which program is most suitable for each user.

How are all these factors assessed and evaluated?

We have created a sophisticated assessment protocol that identifies individual problems and the severity of these problems. Based on the results of this assessment, our system customizes an effective treatment program catering to the specific needs of each individual.

What does the training involve?

The training program involves working on a computer and performing a series of what we call “cognitive tasks”.

Each individual program entails identification of patterns, changes in movement, colors and sound, directing and shifting attention, split and continuous attention, focusing despite visual and auditory distraction, comparing objects and much more.

AttenGo For Your Memory

What is AttenGo for Memory?

AttenGo is a comprehensive online cognitive training program that assesses and addresses cognitive impairments.

The program is comprised of two units: AttenFocus for improving key aspects of attention, focus and concentration, and AttenMemory for improving memory and information processing.

What is AttenMemory?

AttenMemory is a clinically tested training program that helps improve all aspects of memory, including visual and auditory processing, and to significantly enhance short-term, working and long-term memory.

How does AttenMemory work?

The program works on specific skills as well as general skills to enhance the ability to remember tasks including lists, words, numbers, names, concepts, shapes, and so on.  The program starts with very easy levels and gradually challenges your brain to flex the “memory muscles.”  It is just like going to the gym and training the different muscles of the body.

How does AttenMemory help?

By improving all aspects of memory, the brain will gradually learn to recover its original capability of remembering and further enhance memory to the highest possible performance level.

I have a concentration problem. Do I need AttenMemory?

Concentration problems are directly addressed by attention training (AttenFocus) and on this basis, AttenMemory further improves different aspects of memory.
Because AttenMemory also improves working memory together with AttenFocus it will further enhance all general cognitive skills.

What conditions does AttenMemory help address?

AttenMemory will work for individuals who have compromised memory as a result of an injury, such as head brain injury, stroke as well decline of memory due to aging.  AttenMemory has also proven to be very effective for children with different learning disabilities.

AttenMemory is very helpful for students who would like to improve their memory capacity in order to excel in their studies.

Is AttenMemory easy to use?

Yes, AttenMemory is very easy to use.  It uses a flash card system that  includes relevant topics and specific cognitive contexts.  Gradually, based on your progress, this intuitive program will challenge your brain and further improve memory capacity.

Is AttenMemory useful for learning disabilities?

Yes, as indicated earlier, AttenMemory will prove effective for all learning related disabilities as it will enhance all general cognitive skills related to memory and learning.

What does the practice entail?

As indicated earlier, the program uses flash cards to enhance visual and auditory memory capacity. Content related sections include names, numbers, words, objects, shapes, colors and more.  The program also trains to improve sequencing, spatial memory, and long-term memory.

Can memory be improved at all ages?

The answer to that is a resounding YES.  Memory can always be improved.  This has been shown in different studies.  In fact, studies show that people who worked on improving memory capacity were significantly less likely to contract dementia or Alzheimer later on in life.

What makes AttenMemory so effective?

AttenMemory works with the natural structure of the human memory.  Instead of mastering all kinds of memory techniques and learning tricks promoted by most books or programs, we use the completely natural neuro-cognitive learning practices, i.e. the brain learns what to do while you train on the program.  AttenMemory treats memory problems at their core. Within a short period of time you will notice the difference.

How long does it take to complete the program?

It usually takes 3 to 6 months to complete the basic program and up to 12 months to complete both the basic and advanced levels.  However, changes will be noticed even before completion, typically with a few weeks.

Can I keep practicing even when the program is completed?

Yes, absolutely.  Your brain’s ability to remember, process information and perform different cognitive tasks can always be improved.  There is no ceiling to how much better it can get.  It is up to you how much time and effort you want to use to improve this important health related area of your life.

Can I use the program off line?

No, the program cannot be used off line.  An Internet connection is required to do the training.

Are results guaranteed?

Our experience in treating thousands of children and adults has shown that with consistent training, most individuals experience noticeable results. We provide full professional support, if you or your child encounter any difficulty, we will help you resolve it.

Is there a money back guarantee for AttenGo?

We offer a 100% money back guarantee! If you complete the program and the assessments show no improvement, you will receive a full refund.

Why am I getting feedback on wrong responses even though I’m responding correctly?

Sometimes there are momentary disconnects from the internet (such as with electricity outtages); this cuts the connection between the exercise you see in your browser and the internet server that is in charge of presenting your program and saving your data. When this happens, the system does not ‘understand’ your responses, and the exercise gives mistaken feedback.

Solution: close and re-open your browser, and enter AttenGo again.

Note: this can happen more often when you are connected with a wireless router. Make sure that your computer is stationed close to the router to ensure as good connection as possible. Or, if possible, connect to the internet with a cable (recommended).
