Learning disability

is a broad label used to describe a range of psycho-neurological conditions that impair a person’s ability to learn and process information

Common conditions include:

Dysgraphia - writing disorder

Dyslexia - reading disorder

Dyscalculia - mathematics disorder

Dyscognia - difficulties in problem solving and concept development

CAPD (central auditory processing disorder) is also considered a learning disability.
Other problems faced by children, as well as some adults with LD, include distractibility, impulsivity and hyperactivity.

Avoidance behavior may also be evident in such individuals. Another condition often found in learning disabled children is Sensory Integration Dysfunction - a neurological disorder that has to do with an inability to integrate information coming in through the senses. The brain of an individual with a learning disability is “wired” differently, impeding access to structures required for smooth cognitive performance. Many people with learning disabilities also suffer from attention deficit disorder.

Research has shown that individuals with learning disabilities have deficiencies
associated with frontal lobe activation. AttenGo training program improves
working memory and frontal lobe functioning.
